Arrived about 1 pm, and after setting up the Aussie Swag for a three night stay, visited Ivan Smith re our UHF radio problems – thing would not turn on. Ivan sorted the problem in less than 5 minutes at no cost. Would highly recommend him if anyone has a radio issue in this area.
Had a great walk around town visiting the information centre and booked dinner at the Renmark club over looking the Murray… good meal, very good wine and returned home to a gale.
On Friday we drove back out to Paringa, visiting Lock 5, Heading Cliffs look out which was spectacular overlooking the Murray and the Murtho Forest Reserve followed by a flight of beers at Wilkadene Woolshed brewery. After lunch a quick visit to the Angoves Cellar door provided the afternoon entertainment.
Visited Berri in the morning, chasing some stronger tent pegs, which we got plus a end wall for the back canopy. Also had to refill the 4.5kg gas bottle – amazing how difficult it is to find a supplier who refills rather than s2p and go – price difference was $10!
After nine days along the magnificent Murray it is time to head inland and start our journey towards the Eyre Peninsula
