We arrived at Booderee at approximately 11am and had to wait for our site as departure times is noon. After being unable to charge our batteries in Sydney (no 15amp PowerPoints and very overcast skies) the batteries were only 72% on arrival but progressed to 82 by sunset and full the next.
We used the first day to resupply food stocks, a wonderful walk along the beach to HMAS Creswell followed by a wallow in the surf. Awoke next morning for a refreshing before brekkie dip and completed the Murray Beach – Governor Head circuit approximately 6 kms in length, and saw the devastating effects of bushfire on the local environment – Banksia’s species in particular seemed to suffer the most! The sea views were spectacular!
Another great walk was the Cape Saint George lighthouse ruins, Moes rock and Stony Creek (would love to see this on an incoming tide), followed by the Steamers beach and Brooks lookout!
