We left Melbourne with Chris and Anne heading to Bairnsdale in East Gippsland , where we stayed with Rosemary and Russell Kearnsley who are Dixon cousins. The main focus here was to attempt to locate the old Dixon farm property at Bruthen. Which we managed to do after a few hours of searching. Had a lovely drive around the lakes district seeing some gorgeous country.
Leaving Chris and Anne at Bairnsdale we continued our drive north to Sydney and for the first time we contemplated the fact that our journey was coming to a close. Had a night at Narooma, where the weather was once again not great, but we saw enough to encourage a visit some time in the future.
At Kiama we caught up with The McCanns and the Ireland’s for a great meal, sharing stories of our journey and saw one Sarah Paton the daughter of a friend playing at the local pub – she was excellent!
