Sunday October 7 – Fitzgerald River National Park – 4 mile beach campgrounds

October 10, 2018 - Reading time: ~1 minute

Well 4 Mile beach campgrounds are superb, with great bush toilets but also a gas hot shower – what a treat! On top of this the scenery at Fitzgerald River National Park is right up there with Cape Range and Karijini National Parks. It is located on the Southern Ocean roughly halfway between Albany and Esperance and is a bit of a way of the main highway but the road is sealed the whole way and in good condition.

4 Mile beach and Barren beach are separated by a small headland and at low tide you are able to walk from one to the other easily. This gives you the opportunity to explore numerous rock pools which are a brilliant shade of blue, containing crystal clear waters ( in some cases 3 to 4 metres in depth) and vary in length but can be up to twenty metres long as they navigate through the reef structure. They are a home to many fish, crabs plant life and a great reality tv show… you can watch for ages. The photos below shows the colours and pools!
