May 11 – 12 Frog campground – free camp

May 22, 2018 - Reading time: 2 minutes

Drove only 30kms from today to Frog campground, indeed we were so early the backpackers who stayed here last night were still packing up. It is a lovely spot, located on a small creek approximately one to one and a half metres deep. As we were setting up a fairly large goanna strolled under the camper and visited for about ten minutes.

We have decided to stay two nights here as it is beautiful along the creek, and very close to both Galvan’s and Adcock Gorge. We visited Galvan’s and unfortunately there were two tour groups there at the same time. A small pool, beautiful waterfall for a swim but just too many people to share it with, on the other hand Adcock while beautiful and a wonderful pool and waterfall we had to ourselves and the serenity was magnificent. We just sat and watched the pool for forty minutes, picking out little feta trues in the rock wall, fish in the pool etc. it was great.

We had a wonderful night here around a shared fire with Craig and Kelli from the Gold Coast who we have met at numerous places from our first stop in Kununurra and Tim and Kath from Canberra. We shared stories our trips, recommended places for each other to visit and stay and just good company over a few beers.
