Left Coward Springs at approximately 9 am and made good time to William Creek where we were hoping to book a flight over Lake Eyre. On arrival we noticed that the Andersen plug connecting the trailers batteries to the car had come off and was badly damaged! At the same time we heard that our route on the Binns track was closed due to rain.
Matt the pilot of Wright airways was trying to organise a soldering iron for the repairs but unfortunately this fell through and so we need to rely on the solar panels totally until we get to Alice, which we probably be Saturday.
We took office on our flight at approximately 1pm and made our first landing 10 minutes to deposit me back on terra firma! Maureen and Matt continued on the journey and Maureen was over joyed! We We departed William Creek after purchasing 26 lites of diesel at $2 a litre, our most expensive fuel so far!
Algebuckina bridge is approximately 70 kilometres from Oodnadatta and crosses the The Neale river and as you can see from the photos is a very impressive structure built in the 1860s with 320 workers!
