We pulled into Curtin Springs at approximately 5pm. Curtin Springs is interesting as it offers cabins, powered sites and free camping sites. The free sites you just set up camp wherever you like and then pay $3 for a shower. Once again there where Ants all over the ground – one nest actually looked like a six lane highway and ran for twenty odd metres. We are now spraying around our pegs, jockey and tyres with coopex a product used on chook farms to keep the ants out! It works really well but here one of the poles was affected by wind and they climbed up where the spring touched the ground!
Saw a magnificent sunrise on Mt Conner, as we had brekkie and cleared the ants off the tent and packed up. Maurs worked out that she camped here 40 years ago on a school camp.
