The drive from Midland to Woodman’s took about 40 minutes and we arrived just after 10am. After a quick setup we went for a walk along the beach to Coogee where we had a wonderful smoothie! Woodman’s is about 17 kms south of Fremantle, so after our walk we jumped backed into the car, drove to Freo, and had a walk around the markets. It was great fun and the city has a very vibrant buzz about it. People were having a great time.
On Sunday we drove into Perth for my appointment with Apple (iPad mal functioning), so we made a day of it. Parking at Watertown – the Perth equivalent of Harbour town, where we purchased a few top up clothes and a new pair of runners for me! The appointment with Apple went well with them finally agreeing that it was one faulty, two a hardware issue and so they replaced it! However, it took well over an hour to finally update the new iPad from the backup and we had to get home for a dinner appointment.
Had a lovely dinner with Ben and Maria Piggott at their home. It was twenty five years since we had worked with Ben in Ayr and it was a great catch up.
On Monday we woke with great anticipation for our trip to Rottnest Island, which lived up to our expectations! Had a delightful ride across in the ferry, a wonderful tour seeing majestic blue oceans, Quokka’s etc. the photos below do not do it justice (as normal).
We finished our stay in Woodman’s with a meal with old Darwin friends of mine Andrew and Penny Locke. It was a great night and I would have to say that neither has changed over the years
