July 20/21 Musgrave/Bramwell road house

July 29, 2020 - Reading time: ~1 minute

An easy two days saw us move from Atherton up Cape York to firstly Musgrave Station and onto a second overnighter at Bramwell Roadhouse. As expected fuel increased in price from $1.38 to $1.70 at Musgrave and $2.05 at Bramwell!

Both stays are well organised with showers, toilets etc, however both are seriously struggling with the covid crisis, with Musgrave informing us that the Cape would not be open by the time we got there – on the other hand Bramwell were much more confident that it would be open.

By the way the first section of dirt was by far the worse and it was difficult to lower the tyre pressures as the bitumen and dirt interchange so rapidly. Before our departure from Musgrave I lowered the tyres to 30 psi in the front and 32 in the rear, which gave a much more comfortable drive!
