Departing Brisbane at 8.30am we were on the highway to Toowoomba by 9.30 and past it by 10.30 – that bypass is brilliant! Headed out the Gore highway to Milmerran on to Inglewood and finally Yelarbon. Took Rivers way to Goondiwindi but set up free camp 20km short, at Bengella Reserve. Interestingly, we have the place on the river to ourselves and a large number of cockatoos.

As the sun is going down, the temperature is starting to drop so the fire is hopefully going to take the chill out of the air.
