Saturday August 25 27 Yanchep National Park Henry White oval

September 4, 2018 - Reading time: ~1 minute

We had three wonderful days here, though it’s a different style of National Park being only 5 kms from the growing city of Yanchep and 60 kms to Perth. It also has its own Inn where we had a delightful meal and watched Hawthorn defeat the Swans on Saturday night.

The campground is well set up with excellent toilets, hot showers, a communal fire pit - lit each night by the camp host Neil who is certainly invested into the park as he plants and tends the rehabilitation gardens around the oval.

We had some nice walks around the lake, which is gorgeous as you can see from the photo below; Image description The gardens around are beautiful with some great kangaroos paws in flower. Image description

The highlight was the Koala Sanctuary where you are able to wander through and just watch the koala’s in their natural habitat. The tourists from Asia loved it! Image description

Unfortunately the weather turned for the worst on Monday and we decided to change our next camping location from Avon River National Park to the Midland Tourist Park in the Swan Valley
